OVERVIEW
RPM is a feature of the Pearl360 universe that allows salespeople receive real-time mobile alerts when customers are interested in upgrading their vehicle. Salespeople can contact interested customers directly on their smartphone device and engage them via text, phone or email at any time.
CHALLENGE
How do we create an app with an easy dashboard that will allow salespeople to quickly engage with customers? How can we make it smart so it knows the best way to contact the customer? How can we design this quickly so that we can get the HTML over to the developers? How can we implement help features so that the app is intuitive in design? To see UI/UX project details Click Here
SOLUTION
Got together with the team and started asking a lot questions. We needed to get into the mental model of the salesperson in order to create the conceptual modal (see creative process) of this app. What we did know was that most salespeople usually have their phone with them so sending an SMS text is the smartest option. We also know that sometimes when a customer shows interest in a vehicle, it could take a day or so before a salesperson gets back. Sometimes, it may not be that the salesperson is slow, it could be that they don't have the best way to contact that person. Nonetheless, it's a missed opportunity! A contact preference would make more sense.
We started identifying the data points and features of the app and how it would be displayed. The form of the dashboard has a clean basic feel that doesn't get in the way of the cool features it offers like instant messaging and pre-canned scripts for quick responses. Less-clicks-to-get-info was the strategy for the RPM dashboard design as well as the entire Pearl360 platform. Consitency is just one of the aspects to the success of this product. But... we didn't stop there. I also waned to have a little fun with the RPM concept a create a series of High Impact Ads for print, social media, and publication. This series of ads is called "In The Sheets" for RPM. It shows 3 salespeople recieving a notification while in bed and the expressions are priceless.
CONCLUSION
After a few A/B test on the dashboard screens to formulate the best dashboard design, I used my off-shore team to create the HTML files to hand off to our back-end developers. The High Impact Ads were effective on LinkedIn as we recieved an increase of demos for Pear360. My team worked very hard on this project and I am very proud of them.
